Patricia's Positives (37)

Hope you enjoy my blogs. They are my perceptions and perspectives on spirituality, health and wellness, positive mental attitude, relationships, and intuition. These are based on my many interviews over the years as well as my own experiences.  I welcome your comments.

Perfect Is as Perfect Does

We are bombarded with images of what perfect is – perfect bodies, perfect houses, perfect jobs, perfect looks... all leading to perfect lives. At least that is what we are led to believe. RIGHT?

How To Stand in Your Own Power

I've been thinking about the word power lately and what it really means. This word can overwhelm us when we think of how power is used in a negative way to control and manipulate others and situations.

Making the “Innermost” of Vacations

Dictionaries define vacations as 1) a period of time devoted to pleasure, rest, or relaxation, especially one with pay granted to an employee, 2) a holiday, and 3) a fixed period of holidays, especially one during which a school, court, or business suspends activities.

If at First You Don’t Succeed….

The quote, "If at first you don't succeed, try and try again," is so very true. We stop short of our goals and dreams when we put limits on our efforts and missed opportunities.

Silence is Golden

There is a saying that God made us with two ears and one mouth for a reason. Knowing when to talk and when to listen is a skill. We often talk because the silence and pauses make us nervous. Or we talk to fill the void. On the other hand, some of us are too silent and speak only when spoken to; perhaps playing it "safe." Balancing the two is the goal.

The Power of Trust

When it is all said and done, when you have done your work, done it well, and "tilled the soil" of your success, one thing remains: To trust that the "what" you have done will bear fruit. Trust is an inner knowing and a "focused surrender" that things will work out.

Birds of a Feather Flock Together

I watched CNN's Larry King talk show host interview Joel Osteen, a world-renowned preacher with a congregation of nearly 45,000. One of things Mr. Osteen said is that we must choose our friends and associates wisely because who we spend time with, will strongly influence what we do: "Tell me who you are with and I'll tell you who you are," so to speak.

Breath - Vitality of Life

We know that a breath is a vital sign of life and that its job is to supply energy to the bloodstream. Breathing is studied by singers, musicians, artists, yogis. The importance of the breath in our day-to-day lives is often underestimated. The oxygen that the breath brings to our lungs is our life force.

Keeping Love When You Lose the One You Love

For many, Valentine's Day will be a day of flowers, beautiful cards, romantic gifts, and special words. For others, the day will not be as cheerful and bright. Life's circumstances of divorce, separation, the death of a loved one or another "love" challenge will cause pain and feelings of loss on this favorite February holiday.

The Power of Positive Thinking

Psychologists have estimated that the average person has over 62,000 thoughts each day centered on ordinary activities and responsibilities. People rarely "track" their thoughts - whether they’re positive or negative, fleeting or introspective, directed or unrelated to the moment. Never the less, our internal dialogue for decision-making, actions, and behavior hums constantly in our brains.
